Dr Sanjaya GamageOral and Maxillofacial SurgeonM.B.B.S., B.D.S., BScDent(Hon), F.R.A.C.D.S., (O.M.S.)

Dr Sanjaya Gamage is a dual qualified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon (OMS), having completed his accredited OMS training through the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons in 2024.

During his OMS training, he had the opportunity to work in both Adelaide and Hobart, where he gained a range of clinical and operative skills in all aspects of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Prior to this, Dr Gamage completed his dental and medical qualifications through the University of Adelaide providing him the opportunity to work in various health settings in both Australia and New Zealand, honing his skills and expertise in the field.

His particular areas of interest in OMS include surgical extraction of impacted wisdom teeth, implantology and pre-prosthetic surgery, corrective jaw (orthognathic) surgery including that for obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), management of facial trauma, management of TMJ disorders as well as resective and local reconstructive surgery for head and neck cancer.

Dr Gamage completed a Fellowship in Maxillofacial Trauma and Orthognathic Surgery in Melbourne in August 2025. He practices the full scope of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, with particular interest and expertise in wisdom teeth removal, dental implants, corrective jaw (orthognathic) surgery, and the management of maxillofacial trauma.

Update for South Australian Patients – Oromax is pleased to announce that Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon, Dr Gamage, will be consulting in both Hahndorf and Stirling, and conducting surgical procedures at Stirling Hospital from October 2025. This will provide greater local convenience and high-quality specialist care for patients across the Adelaide Hills region.
