Dr Aaron ThomasOral and Maxillofacial Surgeon

Dr Aaron Thomas is a dual-qualified specialist Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon. Aaron completed dental school in Perth, medical school in Adelaide, and specialist surgical training
in Melbourne. He then completed 2 subspecialty fellowships encompassing temporomandibular joint surgery (at St Vincent’s Hospital, Melbourne) and craniofacial surgery, orthognathic (corrective jaw) surgery, and facial trauma surgery (at the world-renowned King’s College Hospital, London).

Aaron’s clinical interests and specific expertise are in orthognathic surgery for facial deformity or obstructive sleep apnoea, TMJ surgery (including total joint replacement), and
facial trauma reconstruction; for these complex surgeries he enjoys using virtual surgical planning and custom cutting guides/patient specific implants. In addition, Aaron is
experienced and highly skilled in all facets of oral and dentoalveolar surgery including surgical removal of wisdom teeth, bone grafting, and dental implant placement.

Aaron is also has public appointments as a consultant surgeon at the Royal Adelaide Hospital, Women’s and Children’s Hospital and Adelaide Dental Hospital, primarily treating
patients with craniofacial trauma and congenital or acquired facial deformity. He is also a Clinical Senior Lecturer in the University of Adelaide’s Medical School, and is heavily
involved in teaching at the undergraduate and specialist levels.

Outside of work, Aaron is a devoted husband and father and enjoys spending time with his family, playing and watching sports of all kinds, travelling, cinema, and sampling South Australia’s excellent food and wine.
